SEREMBAN: Dissatisfied with the recent party's election results, a group of DAP grassroots leaders and members staged a protest calling for fresh polls.
The group claims it has strong reasons to believe that the results of the Dec 15 central executive committee (CEC) election were manipulated.
Their spokesman, Ladang Paroi branch vice-chairman David Dass Aessrpatham, said they wanted the Registrar of Societies (RoS) to expedite its probe into the matter.
He said it was important that investigations were completed before the dissolution of Parliament so that they would have time to decide on the next course of action.
“We want justice for the Indians,” he told reporters after the group held a peaceful demonstration outside the party's headquarters here.
The group also carried a banner which read “We claim justice: Don't kill the Indians”.

SEREMBAN: The DAP Senawang Desa Dahlia branch has lodged a report with the Registrar of Societies (ROS) over alleged deception during the recent Central Executive Committee (CEC) elections.
Chairman Richard Francis who turned up with branch vice-chairman Jesu Dason when lodging a report said the elections clearly showed there were despotic practices in the party.
"I was a delegate who voted during the elections in Penang. I was sad when I found out the Indian community did not get a significant place in the party. It would be apt if DAP changes its name to 'Autocratic Action Party' or AAP," he told reporters after submitting his report to ROS Officer Zainor Shida Arshad on Friday.
Richard said DAP should stop party nepotism and give new leaders opportunities to manage the party, and suggested that the CEC election be held again to show DAP practiced democracy.
"DAP is preoccupied with cleanliness outside the party, whilst its own house is dirty. Clean our house first, then the nation." - Bernama/The Star
