Bloggers Rocky Bru
here and Syed Akbar Ali
here questioned the court's decision to rule in favour of the application of the murderous (we alleged) DAP Kajang councillor Tan Boon Wah to limit MACC's questioning to within office hours.
That precedent could be capitalised by DAP to be extended to all law enforcement activities from police, corruption, drugs, and your local authority when it suits them. Immediately upon the court judgement, DAP Chairman, Karpal Singh made a call to limit police interrogation to within office hours too (Read
here). If the ruling is allowed, it will put to a halt Government machinery from carrying out their duties. This will probably be what DAP wants in order to pinpoint their finger to accuse the BN Government of inefficiency.
Rocky raised a pertinent point in that such questioning practices are common in reputable and respected agencis like the Scotland Yard, ICAC, and Interpol. Furthermore, it is not the business of the court to intervene in day-to-day operation of any Government agencies. Their business should be limited to issues involving the protection of the legal rights of suspect and witness and ensure no coercion is applied on suspects and witness into false confessions.
We The Unspinners notice that court decisions recently like in this case and Anwar's court delays in his sodomy trial is glaringly favoured with the opposition. It raises suspicion that our judges are too fearful of taking the right legal decision and succumbed to pressure from the fear of being ostracised by opposition parties. The court's over accomodation allowed the opposition to abuse the system with their constant perception play and drama.
There is also the suspicion that some judges have partisan involvement and are intentionally taking partisan political position. This in contradiction with their code of conduct as judges to be impartial and free of partisanship.
The application by DAP with the court to intervene in the
modus operandi of the MACC runs contrary to the calls by DAP to eradicate corruption and crimes. It shows DAP is not consistent and sincere in their position. It is only playing a game to paint the perception of corrupt on the BN Government.
Whenever any investigation is made against DAP members and politicians suspected of corruption and crimes, DAP have no reservation to cover up using the courts or street protests or playing perception games. DAP is also covering up wrongdoings within the party.
In comparison, the present BN Government in its 52 year history has
never attempted to manipulate the court to stop corruption investigation against their peers. There is
no confirmed records available to-date to accuse the BN Government of interfering in the work of the police and corruption prevention agencies.
The Unspinners strongly believe that the legal action by DAP serves nothing more than to coverup their own wrongdoings. We will highlight few cases to show that the tradition of corruption, deciet and gangsterism in DAP still strive.
Subversive and Organised Crime
Historically DAP derives it's support from the
communist infiltrated new villagers and the 'proletariat' urban Chinese. They are inextricably linked to Chinese triads organised crimes, and gangters.
Theresa Kok used the term "Robin Hood" to describe Ronnie Liu in her defence against various allegations against him. "Robin Hood" is a famous English outlaw known for "
stealing from the rich to give to the poor." She had unintentionally acknowledge Ronnie involvement in illegal activities.
Since August this year, the public was exposed to the linkage of gangsterism and criminal activities by DAP Selangor. The first expose was made by PKR's Wee Choo Keong (read the Malay Mail
here). He claimed a certain DAP politician in Selangor, which is widely believed to be Ronnie Liu, is involved in organised crime activities.
Then came the murder of Teoh Beng Hock. It exposed DAP's willingness to resort to organised crime-style murder to coverup investigation by MACC in the misappropriation of assemblymen allocation in Selangor by DAP politicians. Instead of cooperating with the authorities, the public is fed with the DAP game of accusing MACC for the murder with organised mass street protest to agitate the public, the court antics by their lawyers, Gobind Singh to steer away from the truth, and the drama of fake injury and disapperance by suspect to disrupt MACC investigation.
At the same time, Johor DAP Chairman and Opposition leader, Dr Boo Cheng Hau was reported by the local paper making statement on the presence of organised crimes within the Johor State DAP. Read the Sun
here.
Embezzlement of Public MoneyDr Boo and Bakri DAP MP, Er Tek was concerned with money diverted from the Donation Fund to buy Wisma DAP Muar. The Star reported on November 2nd of a resolution passed to refer DAP ADUN for Bentayan, Gwee Tong Hian to the DAP Disciplinary Comittee. (Read in MT
here) Gwee had allegedly siphoned money by raising the purchase price of the building from RM275,000 to RM300,000 (read Garamanis
here). Few days later, Dr Boo received a death threat at his home. Read
here.
There is an internal political problem in Johor DAP where Dr Boo has been at loggerhead with Guan Eng. In 2007, he offered to resign as Johor DAP Chairman to test Guan Eng to replace him (read
here). Guan Eng is allied with Gwee and before the recent current position taken by Johor DAP, Dr Boo was forced to initially let off Gwee with only a warning. This was reported by a local paper but information on the allegations against Gwee was witheld.
Will DAP Central Committee decide against its own allies or will they put aside principle for the sake of politics? If they do, they should take actions also against Lim Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng for squandering the Bukit China funds raised from the public in the 80s.
Dr Boo is remembered for creating furor in Johor when he accused Malaysia of practising apartheid early March this year. Gwee created controversy when he refused to wear songkok on the first day of Johor DUN seating in 2008 and receive the wrath of the Sultan of Johor.
Drugs Linked Crimes
The Unspinners made a posting recently
here of two aides to ADUN Janice Lee of Teratai Selangor arrested for crimes related to drugs.
The blogger Gomo who made the expose
here claimed of being informed by his source that the arrest is linked to a major RM10 million drug bust at the Penang International Airport in the middle of year. This revelation was also hush hushed by DAP.
These examples should raised doubt if not convince that DAP is a corrupt, deceitful and subversive political organisation. Their application to the court to restrict MACC operation is ridiculous and is intended to safeguard their political interest at the expense of public safety and interest.
The higher court should not fall to this cheap trick of DAP which is intended to cover their own wrongdoings. The court should review their decision to limit MACC questioning to within office hours so that the smooth working of law and order in the country is not hindered.
